The password-JDM ones' are cheaper ($34) and they actually have bolts with lock nuts instead of the self threading screws like ebay.

Look into dzus fasteners. More secure than rubber bands and better looking IMO. A little bit of fab is worth the effort.

May be a dumb question.....but what is the point of these fasteners? I'm sure isn't not for aesthetics right?

The only thing I can think of is strickly for racing purposes. Maybe you're out on the track and an oil cooler line breaks or piece of charge pipong comes apart; that minute or two you save by just pulling the bands off could be used for repairing the malfunction.

someone also might pop it off and walk off with your bumper, what is it on these later ones, a couple of bolts and some screws?

quik latches look much cleaner. expensive but cleaner. The best option is none though in my opinion. Streamline flush oem fit, will be best, unless it's a race car where time is of the essence sometimes.
