So just bought an 95 h22 civic.. It is spitting an sputtering at low rpms and then come off the gas an it idles really low then dies.. In higher rpms it runs fine.. I really need help with this an pretty much I think eliminated all the problems it could be..

We have checked the fuel filter, timing, wiring, spark plugs.. Now there is something weird the motor is in time when turned off then when you turn your car on the marks on timing is moved to the right a lil towards the dash.. But not off by much.. It is all lined up when turned off.

 

I have no idea what you are talking about. Did you buy the car like this? Did you at least give it a tune up?

 

well to be honest its a friends car I am buying from him today if can get running ok.. We are over here trying to figure out what it is now.. The timing marks are in place when turned off.. Then idleing the marks are retarded some..

K well it is a 95 civic with h22a1 swap and chipped p28 ecu for the H22.. IDK wtf the problem is..

 

Are you talking about the mechanical or ignition timing?

its off a tooth is my guess h22's always seem to die at idle if its off a tooth but act okayish driving.. convert it to a manual tensioner when you retime it...
