Default B16 Gearbox sticking in gear! Help =(

Hey guys,

A little while ago my b16a2 (hydro) box started getting stuck in reverse (possible to unselect with some resistance). After researching I found it could be the 5/r synchro sleeve. So I recently got the box rebuilt with a synchrotech 5/r sleeve, synchro and spring. I also installed new oem seals and bearings at the same time too. Now I just got the box in last night and it is still getting stuck in reverse, it's possible to get out but there is definentally some resistance like before.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I really don't want to pull the box apart again to replace the wrong thing again :/ labour is expensive in Australia.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys.

You're going to have to pull it again. I would take it somewhere else to have it rebuilt this time.

Any idea on what I should look at replacing now though? Every gear goes in and out perfectly no crunches, it's just reverse gets sticky trying to unselect it.

Check the reverse idler gear for a worn bushing and also look at the main case where the 5/R fork goes in. If the trans housing is dinged at the end it may be causing the fork to get stuck.
