Default Rebuild S40 or buy used?

I have a 00 EX with a S40 b000 trans and I believe the bearing are failing (pilot, CS bearings, ISB). There's always a strong tug every time I shift gear and give gas, and a vibration/buzzing sound when the clutch is not engaged while in neutral. 2nd gear is also hard to engage at high RPMs (only 2nd, not other gears), which IIRC is something to do with the CS bearings. It has approx 150k miles. I'm tired of the noise, tugging, and also my clutch is worn out. Should I buy the same tranny for $300 with 107k miles (no rebuild), or rebuild mines? Also, how much would a typical S40 tranny go for (at parts place, junk yard, etc.)?

Rebuild it. Never know what you're getting when you buy a used trans.

Does it pop out of 2nd?

The tugging is likely due to the mounts.

Actually I might just replace the 2 shaft bearings and find a used clutch at the junkyard in good condition considering I'm going to do a swap soon; imo pointless in rebuilding.

Used clutch from junkyard is a bad idea

So should I just get a new clutch, or where should I find a used clutch that's in good condition?

Just rebuild your working trans... it will be better in the end. An Exedy OEM replacement clutch can be bought for around $100 new.
