ej8 no parking/head lights
okay so I bought my car with some EM1 foglights and the guy piggy backed the wires off of the parking lamps. The foglights blew out and now I dont have any headlights, parking lights, or signals. My brakes do work when i press them. Any ideas on what the issue(s) could be? I checked my fuses and grounds.
bingo! same thing happened to me years back when i owned a 95 ex, the guy i bought it from had connected some m3 style mirrors with leds and the left one blew out and short circuited all the lights, we traced the problem back to a couple wires

depends how there wired the bulbs could of been acting as a fuse disconnect the fogs and make sure that u splice and tape the wires back together and try them some bulbs are made with wires inside to prevent circuit breaks like that but if they were cheap they dont have that and the fogs might be wired in series and not parallel so no fogs no headlights
I replaced the entire head light harness with one off my SI parts car. So I should check the continuity at the sockets and plugs? Thanks for all the help everyone!
Also how to I locate a shorted out wire if there is one?

Okay I took a test light to the parking light, signal, and headlight fuses under my dash and none of them lit up. I pulled the fuses and stuck the test light into the holder itself and it still didnt light. What could it be?
And Yes the switch was on. With the key in the ON II position. I will take a multimeter to the fuse holders under the dash and post my findings. What setting should I set the multimeter on to test the fuse holders under the dash?
At the link I posted, you test for voltage at both top test tabs of the installed fuses. No need to have key on at all. Just turn on light switch.
Set the multimeter to read DC volts. Is your multimeter auto-ranging or do you need to select a voltage scale?
