Default Gen 3 Trunk Latch is not working, how do I open the trunk ?

well, my trunk latch is not working, I can hear the motor actuator is working, I am assuming the actuator rod came off the motor itself, which is an easy fix, BUT HOW DO I OPEN THE TRUNK IN THE MEAN TIME TO ACCESS THE ACTUATOR, if I can;t open it...

I look from the back hatch, and there is no way I can take the panel out to access it.

is there any emergency latch that can open the trunk in the event that this happened ?, like the sunroof, has a manual deevice to close it, if the motor is not working...

You can't open the trunk because you don't have one...

My friend's trunk latch doesn't work neither. He has to turn his key and latch at the same time to open the trunk.

i actually had a the same problem. The latch button in the back stopped working. It would go back and forth and not do anything. Turned out that the button was getting stuck in one position, causing the system to not respond. I sprayed some wd-40 into the space between the button. It works now

Hope this helps

Insert Key... hold the little lever, and turn the key hard and pull it up.

Turn the key hard.
