I am a novice when it comes to cars so im going need your help. I want to do a minime swap to my 00 honda civic. Im looking to buy a Z6/Y8 head so I need a rap sheet of the "what I need."

Have you looked in the FAQs sticky?

 

Really no point in doing a mini-me swap...
most have a hassle w/ them cause they just cant seem to research, like you.
your y7 already has a z6 intake mani which is way better than the y7's original set-up.
Invest your money in a good cam and valvetrain w/ a tune and you'll be way happier w/ those results than a mini-me

 

Go with the Y8 head if you can. That way you can at least reuse your distributor. Like Ron said check the FAQ above.

 

Thank you. Like I said am a novice, new to fourms, but ideas like that make it better then research. But I will invest in a good cam and valvetrain w/ a tune, and move to step two from there.

You can't tune an OBD2 ECU, you can only convert to OBD1 and then tune. Keep that it mind especially when considering your local emissions testing as converting to OBD1 in a lot of states would make it unable to pass. But I'll be honest the money you're going to put in that Y7 would be better served saving up for a swap or turbo. Just my .02.
