Default A/C Compressor Troubleshooting

Hey friends!

Here is the deal.

I am troubleshooting my A/C system. I have gone through the work flow and I am down to the last item, the FIELD COIL.

The resistance is out of range (4.2Ohms), but I tested it at higher than 68 degrees. Is that relevant?

2ndly, if I turn everything on and lightly touch the pulley end of the compressor, it will engage, get cold, and run fine, until it cycles off and then I would have to do it again.

Does this sound like a problem adjusting the plate would fix, or is it because the magnetic coil is not working properly?

Thank you in advance!

Done. The armature plate is bent. It's within spec on one side, but the gap grows larger as it goes around.

I guess replacement is in order. Do I need to do the whole clutch kit, or will I be OK just replacing the armature plate?

Thank you

My recommendation is to buy the clutch set (pulley, shim, snap ring, armature plate).
