Default 92 Honda civ dx D15b7 Oil pan replacement

I ll be replacing my oil pan and oil pan gasket some time soon. While reading the Dealer manual about the oil pan replacement, i noticed it said that i need to remove part of the transfer housing which stems from the tranny. I knew i had to remove the clutch cover, but removing parts of the tranny to remove the oil pan doesnt sound right??

anyone ever do this job>??
