Default 90 civic sedan - seat belt and power window problems

Well long story short, I have a 1990 civic sedan that had smog issues when I was 15 and never wanted to deal with it. Back then I was very naive of the smog ***** and if I knew then what I do now, this car wouldnt have sat for the past 5 years.

The car has a d16y7? I believe.. its been years since I even sat in the car. It runs perfectly fine but after years of sitting and taking things apart I have a few questions.

The seatbelts are automatic, as I have read up that most if not all the sedans are. Well the infamous problem of them staying forward is bugging me and I have searched on here and saw a few different things I might have to try when I get back home but ANY help is appreciated.

Another is the passenger door seems to be the main culprit of why all the windows except the driver door work. I notice that when I mess with the harness that plugs into the bottom of the door they begin to work. But, when I close the door it evidently becomes loose. Is this harness cheap? Common issue?

Also, I just want to make this car stock because it will be my DD and will save me a ton on gas. With that being said I want to take the muffler off it has now and put it to stock, and sell the rims on it now for some stock steelies. Pics will come later when I get home

Any help is appreciated, thanks

I am pretty sure seatbelts are a lifetime warranty, and you should be able to get them fixed for free at a dealership. Just confirm first.

Ok I was reading up on that as well. But I just went and did some of the suggestions I found on a sticky and the male green plug that is underneath the heater/ac control unit does not have a female plug to pair with. Where does the female plug come from?

Thanks

Proabably just have to trace for a bad wire.

Last time I checked you could still order the stock mufflers. Walker has a cheap version, and I have a borla muffler on one of my CRXs that is a stock replacement.

I think the dealership probably would just clean the mechanism, and that usually fixes the problem.

Probably will need a picture for this. It really can be anything, from the radio to being not needed.

Thanks Whited! I been so busy working on my other car I haven't got a chance to take a look at this one.

So, I was able to get the passenger door to roll up and down but only when I wiggled with the connector. Now, it does not work at all and I checked fuses underneath the dash and engine bay. Thoughts please?

Here is the pic of the green plug

And does this have anything to do with the seats?

The fuse block that is conected to the battery is for the seat belts. check to make sure the fuses are not blown and make sure the thing isn't filled with corrosion. I had to get rid of it on my wagon bc the fuse block was shot.

I did check earlier and the fuses are good. Did you have to bypass anything since you got rid of it?

Something is draining my battery and I think that the seatbelts can be the problem?

Do you have a clock? A/C? Lighter?
Green connector is one of those.

I do have all of them and the lighter plug has its own connector. Behind the A/C unit I cant see any hanging wires/missing connections.

The clock does turn on as well.

Try the back of the A/C switch.

The two fuses on your battery are for the auto seatbelts.

Ok I took out the A/C unit and looked behind it again and the bigger plug that connects to the back is paired with that green plug. I looked around and there is nothing, could it connect to a stereo?
This is where the green plug wire is coming from.

Appreciate the help, this is bugging me

Do you even have A/C?
AC faceplate

There is one more connection where the A/C button is (not shown in your pics)

Here is a climate control WITHOUT the A/C button

What was I thinking, doh. No A/C, was taken out when motor was swapped and that portion was replaced with the alarm light

But even then, the picture of the unit without AC has a plug that doesnt appear to be able to connect, they look like different sizes.

I just cut the fuse block off and connected the two wires together and add them to another wire straight to the battery with an inline fuse.

Thank you sir, that car has been draining my funds for a good while now but with the change in weather, this Honda needs to get some attention.

Havent got around to seeing if the fuse box is bad, but I would like to just replace it if that comes up to be the problem.

Update: The socket on the passenger door was bad so I just ended up cutting it off and pairing the wires together, then loomed.

Had a buddy fix the seatbelts, its funny I forgot what he said what was wrong with it,
oops! Got a stock muffler put on and car is running fine.

Now Id just like to get some stock steelies or something nice.

Been driving the car around and its pretty comfortable for being 22 years old. Although I have some other concerns.

On the first fill up (last week), I put in $40 and car was pretty much full. Drove it around and expected it do get me around 350 miles out of the tank but ONLY got 238 before I decided it was too close to E.

I checked the spark plugs and look good to me, distributor was new when I got the car but can it go bad from just sitting? I put in some injector cleaner as well, wondering if the fuel filter can be robbing me of mpg.

I appreciate any help.

It also had a weird burning or smoking smell coming from the passenger side. If its the filter that will be an easy fix.
