my headlight went out all of a sudden. HELP.
hey HT'rs, so tonite i start up my ej1 and drive normally like i always do, when all of a sudden my headlights go out. they just blanked out. ive had experience with this and it turned out to be a bad ground but that was just one headlight. both headlights went out both high and lowbeam. what would cause this? thanks in advance
fuse is ok checked it and even bought another one but didnt work. i think its the harness because the plug in that goes into the headlights are in bad condition. they look like its blown or something.
chances are both harnesses dont go bad at exactly the same time......
Reality is, its most likely the fuse since they both went out at the same time. Check what RonJ said....then take a look at the bulbs. It sounds as if you have some bad wiring though since you've already stated you've had problems in the past.

But doesnt that light switch control all lights(head, tail, dash)?
A bad switch can cause the headlights not to work but leave the taillights functional.
Also verify that voltage reaches the switch on both of the white wires in the connector.

man this thing is not working. idk wth to do. i disassembled cleaned and added dielectric grease and still no hope. i just dont want to spend money on another switch when maybe thats not the problem. god dam car is getting me irritated already.
spend money on the switch? lol dude go to the junkyard with a phillips and install see what happens. you could simply put it in your pocket since you dont want to pay for it and walk out.
Yea i wish it was that easy. Most junkyard dont even let you go in, and they always want an arm and leg for everything.
Well today i took it to a couple of buddies who have ton of experience with the car. Replaced the fuses under dash and it lite up for a second. it was what i first concluded, i have to replace the plug in harness that goes to the headlight. Gonna replace it tomorrow, hopefully it goes good.

well i finally hot the lights working today after all the trouble. the socket harness that goes in to the light was bad and connected the ground in with the positive or negative and blew the light bulbs, both light bulbs.
