today i was driving, and after about a hour of stopping and driving, when my car accelrated to about 5k rpm it felt like it was cutoff it just wouldnt keep going. i think its about the time that my secondaries open up. i filled gas the day earlier at some cheap shell gas station, and i decided to pump another 5$ at a local gas station. after the car was accelerated fine with no problems, anyone familiar with the problem i had earlier, bad gas?, or something wrong with the internals. thanks for the help!

If you are low on oil, vtec will do that. Check the engine oil level.
