99 civic si fluctuating idle and random misfires
My friend just got a burnt exhaust valve replaced along with valve job. It was running great after i put it together but three months later it started to misfire. He took it to the shop n they fried his dizzy while performing a compression test. Compression was 180 across. Bought a new dizzy and it starts but its fluctuating at idle. I would get misfires from 1-4 and random misfiring code. It had a code for the IACV so i cleaned it out n the code is gone but its still idling bad. The engine drives great n has plenty of power but when u let the rpm down then the idle problem starts. The exhaust is smoking a little blue n oil needs to be put in once in a while. He also mentioned the coolant burns off as well but like i said the compression is good. Has anyone encountered this problem? I'm running out of ideas.
Yes everything is stock except intake, headers, exhaust. Codes will start with p0301 and then p0302,p0303,p0304 n p1399 after driving it down the street but it doesnt feel like its misfiring. nice response when wanted.

too loose of a valve adjustment will cause such misfires?
I had this problem too I had cams put in and the ticking were my valves being wayyy to loose sounded like a sewing machine. I had them adjusted correctly and now it's nice and quiet.
I still do at times when i first start the engine it will throw a light right away, But after i clear the light and drive it, it's fine. I've also been getting this P0505 idle malfunction code that i can't seem to get rid of too.
