lately when i start my car up it idles perfectly at 1,000 rpm but sometimes it dies to about 300-500 rpm. i hit the gas and it goes up then idles perfectly at 1,000 rpm...any ideas what it could be?

 

if idle goes up,its the iacv(idle air control valve)
if idle goes down,its the tps(throttle position sensor)

i might have that backwards,same difference..

iacv - remove and clean with brake cleaner thouroughly
tps - sometimes this can be solved with a simple adjustment(with a multimeter,youll know its in the right spot when the voltage reads 5volts,or something like that,just mess with it.

 

to adjust TPS, you can move it left to right by loosening the screws, more in depth description if you look how to adjust TPS...and I'm pretty sure its stickied
