Default 230-250 hp goal

This application is going on a b18b on stock internals, that i plan on dd. I'm wondering what size/trim turbo I should go with to reach my goal. or any specific brand. Also if this is safe on stock internals. Any info helps.

A GT3251B or a nice little T3/T04E 50 "trim" is all you need. Both are Garretts.. stick with that, and you'll be just fine. . Use a .63A/R T31 4 bolt housing for either one of those..

No not at all. It wouldnt push the turbo hard whatsoever..the motor either. Just make sure you get a good solid setup with good parts and get it tuned...period.

Will do thanks. Last thing how much do you think the turbo alone/full setup will cost. Is 3500-4000 a reasonable mental budget?

For the most fun and response, I always look at the smallest turbo that will make the numbers you want.

On a boosted setup, you still want a little room to grow though so something between an evo big 16g and an 18g is what I'd look at (just based on personal experience).

Theshodan seems to know lot about turbos, so ofc I defer to him although I thought those recommendations seemed a little big for your power goals.

Research!!!

It really all depends on what brand name parts you want to get. Whether or not it will be New or Used parts. But with that budget you are very well opted to get some good quality parts to be a good reliable setup. Just Make a master list of all the parts you need..including the small stuff.

You should check out the drag section there's someone with a thread in there and has a stock ls with a 16g I think??
Anyway his setup is perfect I think for a stock ls and spools super fast and pulls all the way threw the rpm range.. check it out.

THe 16G and Super 60s can work, though are limited in their approach in case he wants more. At 36lbs/min and 38lbs/min, they are a bit stretched to work with LS, unless at higher boost pressures. The only problem with the 16G is the integration into most manifolds mated to an LS; if you have the means to make it work, go ahead, but most of the time, they take a bit of time to get goin'. The Super 60 is a bit nicer, though a custom downpipe flange is made.

The go-autowerks kit is a good idea, though I recommend exactly what I said before if you decide to go that route. GT3251B, 50 trim, or Super 60 at the minimum

What about a 57 trim with a .48 exhaust? Too far mismatched between turbine and compressor?

My first real turbo setup had a 57 trim with the. 63 exhaust, made 238/210 on 10 psi of boost on a 205K mile ls and it ran for about 25k miles before I went lsvtec. Not bad for uberdata lol

I'm looking to run 10lbs at most to make this goal because I would want to be able to get more out of it if need be. Also price is always a factor so knowing which is the cheapest route would help. Also a kit with limited customization is ideal. Any more knowledge is greatly appreciated.

No. I do not recommend the .48A/R. The "spool" difference is not worth the effectiveness at slightly higher boost pressures over 10psi.

Going the "cheapest" route unless you know exactly what you're getting into is the quickest way to not get the car going very far at all.

Go-autoworks tuner turbo kit with the 50 trim option.

chipped ecu+ fuel pump+ injectors+ good tune with neptune.

motor mount inserts, cc stage 2 or 3 clutch, boost gauge, ebay or custom 3" exhaust, test pipe or 3" cat converter.

$4000 well spent and complete.
