Default Help: Redline at 6500?

I'm probably pretty sure this question has been asked before and the problem has been solved. Anyways.. I just recently bought my 1995 Honda Civic Ex from a used car dealership, when I test drove it, I didnt attempt to smash it. Couple days later, I decided to smash it one time. When I did, it only hit 6500rpms. I tried turning it off then back on, still the same. I cleaned out my vtec solenoid, tried to reconnect everything also to see if that would work. It still hits at 6500rpms. One way for my car to start running like it should, hitting 7200rpms, I would have to warm up my car 5-10mins, drive for awhile, then it'd start hitting like it should. Because I know that once you start your car, it should run like nothing is wrong at all.

Does anyone know what I should do to fix this problem?
Could it be the vtec oil pressure switch?
(i wouldnt want to go around buying all sorts of parts that I wouldnt need to buy)

-Yes my vtec cracks
-My car is all stock
-I also changed my oil.

-Heres my car hitting 6500rpms
http://youtu.be/bvbfMEk6HpE

Thanks.

lol why do you need your car to hit 7200 rpm when its COLD. vtec wont even activate when the car is cold.

that wasnt my question, but even when i warm up my car, it doesnt hit 72, i have to drive regular for 10-15mins after i warm up my car for 5 mins then itll run how it should. all my homies car hit how they should without warming it up. i just wanna know what the problem is that it wont hit 72 after i just warm up. ive tried using another stock ecu and a chipped ecu. it was still the same, so it aint ecu problem.

-in the video, i warmed up my car for 10mins without driving around

How recently is "just recently"? If the car isn't functioning correctly, I'd take it back to them and expect them to fix it for you, unless you knowingly bought the car with this problem.

I bought it with no warranty and as is, so they wont do anything about it, cuz I already tried. And no I didnt know it has this problem.

Check the laws in your locality - you might be protected through some form of lemon law. Most places, you're legally protected from a known problem that you aren't told about for 14-30 days from date of purchase.

Well I had 10days to return it if I didnt want it. But I didnt try to test out the whole car after 10days. And now it has been a couple days past a month since I bought it. So its really not recently. Ha...h..aha...

Hm. Answered your own question. You're not able to go past 6500 until you've reached operating temp. Or so it seems. Stop trying to be Fast N Furious and drive like a normal human being. Try doing a tuneup and other maintenance before you start beating your car into the ground.

In all truthfulness, you shouldn't be even considering ******* it until it's warmed up. Unless you like the idea of spun bearings, in which case go to town.

Well thats all true, but wouldnt 20mins be more than enough to warm up my car? Without driving around. Cuz i see people turn on their car at the runs and be running top notch with or without warming up. I did full tune, still same results.

It's possible your tach is off as well. Does the check engine light work?

My gas mileage is 100% good. And my tach is good aswell. Yea my check engine light works.

I tried my friends chipped p28. It has launch control at 3 that works fine, the vtec suppose to kick at 45, but kicks 55, and suppose to redline 74, but redline 65
