Default Removing rubber bushings from shift linkage

I have a jdm prelude shift linkage i'm going to be installing it into my car on Friday but I want to replace the rubber jdm bushings and install brand new delrin transmission side bushings....how can I take the old bushings without having to damage the cable line...possibly burning it out with a torch? carefully pry it out? any suggestions will help open new ideas..all appreciated
