Default B16 Turbo or B18c5 w/89mm crank all motor?

I have both sitting in the garage. It'll go in a 93 DA.
the B16 is completely stock. The B18C5 has a B20 crank, Rods and usdm itr
pistons at 82mm. So which one should I go with?

i'd be cautious with the b18 if it's at that bore on stock sleeves

ALL Motor OR Turbo. I will not turbocharge the Type R engine. No way. 12:1comp. on that thing.

high compression and cams on the c5.

or supercharger it and leave it alone.

I won't boost the B18 period.

The turbo B16 should make more torque right? The car is pretty heavy.

it'll make more torque at high rpm, but for a DD a 1.8 would be nicer.

Depending on the Turbo size, but overall the turbo will make more torque just a matter of when. I personally would go the N/A route, since more torque earlier in rpms?

I'm gonna go ahead and put my vote on the b16 turbo.Have you considered putting the head that is on the b18c on the b16 and then turbo?

Both of the heads are the same. B18C5 not C1. C5 and B16 have the same P30 head "Casting". it's not a gsr motor.

Look i have a 12.5 b series on 10 pounds and runs great .. it all about the tuner, most people play it safe and do low compression... charge the b18 but put a block guard. by the motor being high compression relieves stress of charger make more power with less psi... no more than ten temp creates hot air . Now if its a turbo your placing in there then i suggest a thicker head gasket with arp stud to drop compression into the 11s and boost it .. Now its like boosting a k series

Awesome info. I was thinking of doing that too. It's just that those type of head gaskets have a pretty bad rep. Even with Arp's. And I don't really want to have anything to worry about, you know..?

i feel u.. cometic gasket will do just fine with arp... remember its all about the tuning.. make sure to have s300j it will really help you and the tuner to perfect your car
