Honda Civic 1996 DX Misfire Issues
Hello, I have a Honda Civic 1996 DX with 180,000 miles on it. Yesterday my car misfired at startup for about 5- 10 seconds, then it stopped shaking and ran like normal and hasnt given me issues since. I erased the code, claiming misfire in cylinder 1 and cylinder 3, however I have new plugs and wires. and the inside of my distributor cap, i believe its called the coil, is new. What could be the issue? It was so weird, and only lasted tops 10 seconds maybe no more than 5. Coolant is good, no oil in it. Oil is good and full, no coolant in it. No white smoke from exhaust, so i dont think its the headgasket. Could it possibly just be the car doing it at random, since then i have driven 60 Miles and it hasnt done it since, and is acting like normal. I know I have bad engine mounts but I doubt that an engine mount would cause the engine to misfire.
Ok so I got the misfire again, this time it was cylinder 2 and 4. The codes I am throwing are p1399 and p1300. They claim manufacturer control ignition system or misfire. Anyone know what to do? And again it only misfires for about 4 or 5 seconds then runs like normal.
