Default cel code 22 and 43

I know everyone is going to tell me to search search search, I DID. I've tried everything to fix the CEL 43, got a new O2 sensor, tightened my fuel rail. And now I'm getting the code for the vtec pressure solenoid. This code I just got today after replacing the VTEC solenoid gasket because the one I had prior to this was leaking.

Motor is a D16z6

I couldn't find a decent set of injectors other than buying new, so I had 270cc RC injectors lying around and I'm using those. Could this cause a CEL 43 with me using a stock p28 ecu?

Is it possible for a VTEC Solenoid to go out? I haven't checked the pin on the ECU and I'll check that tomorrow, but I haven't touched the ECU at all since I started having problems with the motor. The solenoid is directly wired to the ecu with a wire. Not on the actual harness, it is a DX harness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm getting so frustrated that I don't even feel like working on it as all of this has been going on for a LONG time.

thanks.

Check the connection where they pinned the wires for VTEC.

Just reading up, and it could just be the vtec oil pressure sensor its self... which makes it a little easier to fix. But the real CEL that is bugging me is the CEL 43, I can't get rid of it. I'm thinking I just need to switch to stock injectors or something. Maybe the extra 30 cc of pressure is throwing the code. I don't know anymore.

So, I was just thinking. The gas that I have been using to start the car is the same gas that has been in the tank since before I bent the 2 valves. That was in October. Does gas thicken or something to where it could cause my code 43? either way I'm gonna try to get some 94 and toss it in there or even at least 91... Hopefully it helps.

Definitely drain the tank and put some fresh gas in it.

If you reset the ECU, do both codes return?

Tank is almost empty, yes I reset the ecu and both codes did return. I think the oil pressure sensor on the vtec just needs to be changed. I found an auction on ebay for the whole solenoid that has the actual plugs male and female, I wanna pick it up just for those plugs, mine is directly wired and I think it looks like trash....

anyways right when I start it up, the codes aren't there. It idles like crap, then after warm up maybe about 3 mins in, then CEL comes on. If that makes any difference.

Fuel could be your problem, but I doubt it is the whole problem. Your VTEC problem could be fixed with your new oil pressure switch so I think you have that solved. The O2 sensor will take that couple of minutes to show up because the ECU is allowing time for the motor and the O2 sensor itself to get up to running temp before it lets you know that it is a fault. The injectors are going to dumping more fuel in the cylinders than you want but they shouldn't cause your MIL you are getting either. (I don't think but I have seen weirder things)

If you fix these possibilities and still no luck; not to insult your intelligence but only because I have seen this and done it myself. Verify that you are watching and counting the codes (if your using the flashing MIL via. service connector method) correctly. I had a guy ask for my help said what his problem was trouble shoot for a couple hours and only find out he counted the code wrong.

VTEC code - Is the engine oil low? How are the wires attached? Post pictures.

Code 43 - You definitely need to install stock injectors. Also, does the engine run fine after it's warmed up?

I am counting the codes right, that's a good thought though.

Engine oil is fine, just checked and added a little actually. the wires are attached directly to one another with crimpers. those little plastic things with the metal inside where you squeeze once the wires are inside, I don't know exactly what they are called.

I'll find some injectors I think I have like 6 stock injectors but have no idea where they are.

After warm up, the car runs fine. Just idles a little low due to the CEL but idle is steady. Throttle response is normal. I have yet to do the ignition timing because I want to get all of this stuff fixed first. I'll try to get some pictures.
