Default bent valves. pistons ok?

car 92 civic hatch.
motor stock b18b1

hey ht i was at the race track and miss shifted from 3 to 2. dumb mistake i know.

i pulled the head and am replacing it with a fresh head.

head is still at the machine shop getting valve guides, valve seals and springs put in.

so my question is when i pulled the head the valve in cylinder 1 had a next to nothing indent. it was a very slightly bent valve, but the piston had a new little groove in it at the valve relief from where the piston came in contact with it. its not much but something. will the new valves be ok when installed with these pistons? or is there going to be a issue with that cylinder? thanks

Just a "light" groove? if that's the case you'll most likely be fine.
Can you post a picture of it?

I've seen cars be perfectly fine with a lot worse then groove in the piston. lol

A picture would help, but from your description, you should be fine.

Depending upon how significant the groove is, I would suggest polishing out any sharp edges as best you can to eliminate the potential for a hot spot to form in that location.
