no more vtec crossover?! HELP!
so i got a 2000 civic si with (to my knowledge) original b16a, only mods are an aem cold air intake. Been driving this car for about 5k miles since i got it and the vtec crossover was great. Smooth and on time. It was LOUD. The other day i got in my car and i didn't hear the vtec crossover. Ever since then the engine noise just stays the same as in lower rpm's. At times, i sort of kinda hear the vtec but nowhere near as loud as it was before. My exhaust sound also got noticeably deeper after at low rpm's after this started happening. I just got an oil change 500 miles ago, checked my oil, vtec solenoid plugs, i am going to get it scanned today by a friend to see if it throws out any codes, even though the CEL is not turned on. (and yes the cel works). any help will be appreciated!
Sounds like it has something to do with this.

It is working. There is no disputing that. However, you're posting because it's not "cracking" like it used to. If you're not throwing any CELS and you can rev it that high then it's working.
Does your speedo work? Maybe the mesh behind solenoid is dirty. Vtec won't crack while standing still. Easier to find out if it works is instead of a shift light plug up a Vtec light and see if it comes on when vtec is supposed to crack.
