help with timing marks?

Default help with timing marks?

i finished up my d16z6 build, now doing timing. crankshaft sproket is on point with oil pump mark, and head is also positioned correct.

when i went to put lower timing cover and pulley on, its off???

anyone have this problem??

make sure that the single white hash mark is lined up with the single mark on the oil pump housing.

DO NOT use the 3 red lines 16 degrees away from the single white mark on the crank pulley,
These are what you will be using for timing.

yes theres two marks together, one is white. thats on the pulley, thats whats off???

most ppl will say to do timing with cover off. with cover off, you are suppose to line up the crank sprocket mark with the oil pump housing mark.

my problem or concern is when i do put the cover on, the marks on cover do not line up with the white mark on pulley.

ok, i just checked without the cover, and the white mark does line up with oil pump mark and the crank sprock mark; all three line up.

so why doesnt the marks on the cover match up with them?

Maybe different timing cover or crank pulley. Just line up the sprocket with the oil pump and you'll be fine

ok, it seems d series marks on cover, will be off from mech timing.
