Clunking noise from under hood.
I bought an integra gsr last friday and it was running just fine until yesterday, when it started to drive like crap and stall out. I was going to work, cruising at about 4k rpm and then it just started to die down, so I downshifted to 4th and it continued to die. So I went to pull off to the side of the road and it had just completely died. There was a clunking racket coming from under the hood, it only happened when I was on the throttle. I revved it in neautral and it was normal, I put it in gear and it clunked. That was while it was running. It will not even start now. What I also don't understand is why the cel isn't on. I doubt the car was serviced very well before i bought it, so does anyone think I need to put tranny fluid in? Spark plugs? Fuel filter? Any Ideas what could be causing this. Lastly, I'm pretty sure it has the gsr head, but the bottom is a crv b20b. It has a p72 ecu, and a stage 2 clutch. It does'nt slip or anything, just not cranking or getting power, which makes me think no fuel. I'm no mechanic btw. Sorry if my post is all over the place also, just trying to put all the info I've got. Ask any questions you need and I'll do my best to answer with what you need. Thanks.
your post is all over the place. you need to start troubleshooting
1. do a compression test
2. put the car in gear and push forward and back. make sure the clutch is engaging. then put the car in neutral and roll it, make sure it's free. lastly push the clutch in and make sure it rolls easy.
3. check fuel pressure at the filter with the key on, you may have to cycle it a couple times for max pressure to build, and or crank the car
do these 3 tests and report back on the results
if all these check we can move on to ignition. by the way make sure you unplug the distributor before you do a compression test

HE knows for sure whats wrong with it.
sounds like it could possibly be a blown head gasket, did you see any white smoke from the tail pipe? clanking could be a spun bearing due to poor lubrication caused by the mixing of oil and water in the bottom end. just a thought let us know what you find out..
worst part about this whole engine is that b20. they are 500 engines from jdm importers and extremely easy to kill if driven hard
i wouldn't bother wasting your money rebuilding it. at a minimum buy a jdm b18b, if you can get a bit more money either the gsr or itr variant of the b18c would be best
running a 2L engine on a p72 ecu that hasn't been tuned for it will pop the motor all by itself.
chalk it up to being a noob. that alone would have been a warning to anyone seasoned
