Any "custom" built fan shroud pix?
Wussup fellas, I'm having a problem with my car gettin hot and I think it's because my rad and turbo are too close to each other and the fan is just recirculating the hot *** air from turbo. I have a fully built Ls/vtec with a garret .70 trim on a custom turbo manifold and the wastegate sits very close to the inside of rad so the fan is on the front side of the fan, pushing air. No ac condensor or anything on the drvs side of car and my half size mishimoto rad is on pass side. Ummm not sure what other info is needed. I'm on my phone or else I would post a pic
My bad....I was thinking of maybe building a shroud or something of the sort to help channel the colder air from the front of car and intercooler at the same time blocking some of he heat from the turbo.....any other suggestions apprecieated
spal fan mounted as a puller with a shroud should solve your problems

Lol thanks
I just order the cake pan on eBay I think. Put the fan on the pan and made a circle. Used a dremel to cut it and trim to size because it was tall. Then I went to lowes and bought an aliuminun plate so I can make a bracket/brace for the shroud and there you have it. I think my total was 20-25 bucks

Well I haven't made time to make the shroud or install the spal fan. For some reason I always felt that my fan wasn't blowin/spinning as fast as it used too. I read somewhere on here that if u swap wires around, it changes direction of fan. So I said Whatha hell, I have another fan anyways if the current one blows up. Lol so I switched the wires around, fan came on as I remember it. Loud and fast. Took it for a ride 2 days in a row highway and city, for like 2 hrs each day, stayed at normal operating temp. Problem solved!
Here is mine

What is the minimum distance between the fan blades and the radiator on a custom shroud and still be effective? i'm on tight space so I wonder how much space I can gain there. Thanks for the reply
