d15b swap - When buying auto parts, what car should I say that I have?
i just recently did a jdm d15b swap in my 99 hatch... so when i go to my local auto part store for tune up parts oil filter, plugs etc. what car do tell them the parts are for? they dont have motor digits in their system...
I had the same problem with my del sol, it was a swap and had no idea what year the motor came out of. I would just figure out what car came with a d15b from the factory and for any of those engine parts for a tune up just say that car rather than what you have. worked well for me.
I don't think so. The JDM D15 we dropped in the hatch replaced a D16Y7. It was a direct replacement. Should be the same with the first poster IF he replaced a non-VTEC engine with a non-VTEC engine.
They did? Did they wire up VTEC? If you aren't sure it wouldn't hurt to verify what you have. If you do then get parts for a D16Y8.
BTW. JDM D15s had a VTEC model.

Yes. He knows what he is talking about. Don't know why you would doubt him about this but trust him to do an engine swap.
