Icon2 Dyno tune thursday, how much boost? stock b18b1, 60 trim

currently at 7psi. Recently installed arp head studs, omni 3 bar, 1000cc injectors. I told the tuner I am shooting for 14lbs, but what do yall think I should go for? I still have my stock clutch, but I am going to buy a cc stage 4 or stage 5 shortly. Also bought a nsx boost controller off ebay lol... I only heard good things about them.

Ive seen someone with a stock b18b1 motor with my turbo get 309 to the wheels on 14 psi, 339 at 17 psi, and 348 at 18psi.

Pretty much its the matter of reliability. I want the car to last me, but I want to get the most horsepower I can squeeze outta it. The guy who ran 18 psi on his stock motor, without head studs too, said he ran that car for 2 years, so is something optimistic to look at but I not everyone agrees following this guys way, even though I have head studs.

Thoughts?

Clutch might limit you if it starts slipping. Even a crappy ebay six puck would hold up pretty good and there pretty cheap.

clutch will most likely slip as soon as you take the car off the dyno and beat on it at around 300whp lol. hopefully it lasts that long.

Correct. And the tuner will determine what boost pressure levels will be optimal for the setup. It'll do...what it will do.

300hp is the limit your looking at with a good tuner. That clutch won't hold much long than the Dyno if even on the Dyno. Change clutch before tune or your just throwing money away IMO

Power goal, not boost. With a stock LS, if you're somewhere in the 300-325whp range, i'd call it a day

Your clutch isnt going to hold ****. Dont blow your money at the tuner before you put a clutch in

He is right don't go spend the money to tune and halfway through the tune realize that the clutch is slipping and you cant dial in the car at higher boost levels. On a 60 trim and a healthy ls motor you should make 250whp at 9lbs on 91oct on a good tune, log style manifold. At least I did i was also running a 6 puck & a 2100lb pressure plate, never had a slipping issue and when I pulled the motor apart after I cracked a sleeve the clutch still looked 80% new after 7 months of abuse.
