Icon2 92 civic best 12v location??????

i looking to run a few toggle switches in my car but idk where i should splice the power to and if i would need fuses behind them... i kinda wanted to make a new sub harness that involves multiple gauges and switches... such as radiator fan and cut offs!

anyone have any good detailed blue prints of any toggle diagrams, found a few on Google but haven't seems to work to well

all help is appreciated

Any new wiring you add should be fused as close to the power source as possible, and with the proper amperage for the size wire you're using. You can research fusing wires yourself.

The absolute best place to get a 12V reference line would be straight from the battery. Run a ~6-8g wire into a distribution block/fuse panel, and branch out off that. If you're planning on running a lot of switches, get an under-dash fuse box out of any older car at a scrap yard, hide it somewhere in your car, and repin it for what you want.

I ran a 12v amp switch inside of my center console compartment (where the e-brake sits). It is hidden and easily accessible.

To the left and right of the e-brake are plastic covers, I drilled a hole in the drivers side cover and installed my bass volume ****, also very accessible.

7 wires total, using a partial fuse box would be your best bet.

We use ones similar to this at work:

You run your main power (fused) and ground to it then run your fused circuits from there. It's nice in that you run ground to it then you can ground all your circuits there instead of a bunch of individual grounds.

A proper solder joint and heat shrink will run circles around butt connectors any day of the week when it comes to car wiring.
