Default 1998 accord wont start but not your typical issues

so the car cranks but as soon as its close to starting all the power shorts out for a moment and then cranks again. this will keep repeating itself as long as you keep trying to start it. so i swapped out the distributor, changed the starter, changed the main relay, completely bypassed the ignition switch and none of this has helped. when trying to start even if i put a test light to the power line off the battery the light goes out along with all the power in the car. if i try to start it without the ignition1 wire from the ign switch it does not short out. another clue is when i pull the fuel pump fuse and try to crank it does not short out either. if i unplug the fuel pump it still shorts out....so thats where im at. if anyone has any ideas id love to hear them thanks ..............dave

update. something is up with the immobilizer. when i unplug the immobilizer the car doesnt cut out while cranking. this seems to run off the fuse for the fuel pump so thats why it doesnt cut out when i take the fuse out for the fuel pump. i think i am going to try another ecu when i can find one.............
