Hey guys, I'm new here but I have a problem with my Civic. I am having trouble starting it after running a while. Sometimes it will start and have a rough idle until it warms up, other times it will just sit and crank forever. I took the computer out and unplugged it and sprayed electrical cleaner in the ports and the pins, thinking there was corrosion, which there was a little. Then it started fine. No rough idle or anything. Then I ran it for about 70 miles with multiple start ups and then it wouldn't start. I unplugged and plugged back in the computer and it starts fine. Someone please help!!!

 

Sounds like your ECU or the harness.

 

It has a chipped OBD1 ECU I believe out of a 5th gen Civic. And I tried the original ECU and had the same problem

 

The harness then. Whether it's chipped or not makes no difference at this point. Check the main relay while you're at it. If you're throwing any CELS post those as well.

 

No, no CELs its just a cheap ebay harness. What brand do you recomend?
