Rough idle after valve adjustment
Hey all i just did my valve adjustment on my 00 civic ex set intake to .008 and ex to .010
for first 10 mins or so car idled really rough and stalled couple times when coming to a stop now it is running fine and idling ok a little low but it has always been low but it is smooth now. just wanted to know should i recheck my adjustments or make them tighter? or is this just the ecu relearning the idle i did disconnect battery while doing the work any help would be appreciated

i did it for maintenance mostly car was running fine and is now after i drove it for a little. but i was getting a ticking from valves when engine was cold .i adjusted just so the feeler gauge dragged
If memory serves me right, when it runs rough and stalls, one was set too tight. Resetting the ECU is typically not needed for a valve adjustment.
Watch it too see how it runs, you might need to go back and double check.

Thanks i have heard that tooand i guess ill have to see how it runs tomorrow when its cold again because like i said now it is running fine a tiny bit more peppy then before.. but The only reason i was wondering if it may have been the ecu relearning was because it WAS idling really low like almost to 100 rpms and stalled twice when i stopped but then fixed itself after a few stops.i droven about 3 miles to get gas and on the way there it stopped acting up . That and i disconnected battery becasue i have remote start and didnt want to accidentally crank it while working on it (ouch)
