Default 2000 ITR o2 sensor check engine

Hey guys I looked but couldnt find anything I just bought a 2000 black ITR and it was throwing a code which said it was the bank one sensor one o2 sensor so I replaced the sensor before the cat and reset everything and it stayed off for about 30 seconds and came right back on throwing the same code.
Any words of advice

Check the harness for any broken wires. Its kind of a pain. You can test the resistance on the old sensor to see if it was even really bad.

did you buy a bosch sensor? or did you buy and OEM replacement?

Bosch sensors suck and that tends to happen.

Yeah, stay away from a Bosch.

on the old one there were some wires that were frayed so i understand why it was throwing the code and yes i did buy a bosch so looks like i will be replacing it with an oem one.

Denso makes the OEM sensors. You can buy the OEM sensor in a Denso box with the connector for something like $40. Only difference is the wire color on two wires. Check google for current pricing.

You can also buy the same sensor in universal form and simply splice the 4 wires into the old pig-tail. The wire colors are different, but it's not hard if you follow the instructions. I thin you can get the universal/splice sensor for $30.

Direct fit:
- upstream 234-4011
- downstream 234-4659

Universal:
- both 234-4209
