Huh...they are similar, if you are to trust that information...not saying it's wrong, just saying it's from some dude on the internet.

it's not like you can put an intake cam on the exhaust side anyway

ohhh yeah i meant the valve train...the geezrs intake springs are the same as itr springs right? so all i need would be the itr cams, itr valve springs(intake only), and maybe a IM..then tune... if i switch to that set up would i have to run retainers?? tryin to keep the cost low .....

If you are going to keep the factory redline, there really is no need to swap out your valvetrain. 8k rpms is 8k rpms.

R cams have more lift and should be using more spring. guys do get away with the gsr vt if the redline stays the same, but, if you change cams you'll be doing a tune anyway.

long story short with a gsr is

1. do a header and nice air filter
2. boost it
3. tear it down and do a build with more compression, cams, ported head etc

randomly changing parts isn't going to do a whole lot. R cams on a stock gsr are worth 5-7hp. that's it, that's all

People run ITR cams in stock GSR/B16's all the time with zero issues. Like I said, waste of time and $$$ IMO if you're not going past stock redline.

But I do agree that really even adding those cams isn't worth the hassle. Upgrade the valvetrain and get some stage 2 cams if you want power. But then again, you'll need to bump the compression in order to maximize those gains as well sooooooo, now you're back at square one and you might as well just boost the stock motor.

Don't forget the Valvetrain upgrades, and with the bigger cams, you can make more power higher up the RPM, and rev higher, to make more power, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a Type-r Cluster, but you don't need one, it would just be sort of a useful novelty
