Default Fan switch temperature

My fans consistently turn on at 208-213 degrees, the manual states they should turn on at 196-203. No idea if it's an genuine Honda sensor or not. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same.

What model car, auto or stick?

I think the average is about 210 which fine, as long as it comes on you are fine.

210 is on the high side.

190 should be the "normal" temp

is this the oem set up or did someone use a cheap ebay fan?

And how exactly what anyone supposed to know that before you said it? We can't read your mind.

In all seriousness though, you're still within safe operating range. Most aftermarket fan switches come on sooner, not later. Yours might just be getting old. You could replace it with a factory part, but I personally wouldn't worry about it.

Well, that's 5-17F above spec according to the service manual. FYI, I also just replaced a HG, and surprisingly enough I don't want to do it again I noticed this while bleeding the coolant. Unfortunately, "aftermarket" could also mean crappy non-oem part. Not sure if this is how these sensors start to fail, etc.

On a similar note, don't suppose anyone has actually noted at what point the oem dash temperature need actually moves? Mine doesn't budge even up to 223.
