Default Question about how your car handles...

i dont know about you but 4 turns of the wheel lock to lock is kinda gay. could i use the rack and pinion of a itr or something with closer ratio steering?

oh and with all the suspension hop-ups on your hatches, does it stick to the road well? if so, can you list what you have done and how much it costed you?

what kinda car you have? Power racks have closer ratios than manuals, and people convert them to manual to save weight, but have the feel of manual. I'm doing this next weekend.
I got custom adjustable springs, KYB AGX shocks, Mugen front strut bar, and that's it. My car actually handles pretty well for what I've got. I'm barely keeping up with Type R's and MR2's on the road course here, until a straightaway comes up.

i have a 92 cx hatch without p/s. im using progress springs and have a front strut bar and thats it. handling bites. i hate the fact that the tires dont hold the line that i try to give it.

what kinda of tires are you running with? I was talking to my room mate tonight, and he saw that some company is coming out with close ratio steering racks for civics/integras. Some as close as 1.3:1, which is like F1 steez. There's going to be some others with 2.4:1 also I believe. A GSR power steering rack is 16:1, so you can see the difference.

teins, intermediate tires, front and rear 99 SI front sway bars, and tower bar. Sticks really well

for suspension, i'm running neuspeed/koni yellows, h&r sport springs, neuspeed front upper strut bar, neuspeed rear lower tie bar, and 205/15-15 falken azenis. i think my car handles super well. i love it's handling. as of now it's only street driven, but i plan to autox with this setup as well.

maybe you should upgrade your shocks before you start worrying about a new steering rack. that should improve your handling greatly. also, what tires are you running? better tires should also make a huge difference. imho, i think the steering rack before the shocks or tires would be putting the cart before the horse, as my dad would say.

im using kuhmo 716 (185/60/14) in the front and some bridgestones (185/65/14) in the rear. gonna get new tires with rims later.

my plans for suspension are first because i'd rather stick to the road and stop quickly then be crazy fast and handle like ****.

how is the set up in order...

gsr rear control arms/ disc brakes $250
gsr front / rear sway bars $100
dc sports rear lower tie $50
skunk2 rear upper strut tie $30
agx 5 way adj. shocks $??

rota subzeros 16"with yokohama parada2's 205/50 $??

how would my car stick with these options? oh and an itr steering rack wouldnt fit?

sounds like a good plan, but i think that the shocks should be the first priority on your list. how low of a drop do your progress springs give you? you really shouldn't be running a drop of more than 1.5 inches on stock shocks. even then, you shouldn't do it for long. also, i think the rear disc conversion should be last on that list. it would be nice, but not neccessary. second, i think the sway bars would add a huge handling improvement. i would look at other companies other than dc sports for suspension components. i don't have first hand experience with their bars, but many people describe them as being extremely flexible. also, i've heard that running tires with different treads on a vehicle can be dangerous, especially in wet weather. so, maybe you should do shocks, wheels/tires or swaybars, then whatever else. just my two cents.
