Default Welding waste gate shut. HOW DO I WELD CAST IRON?

I will be welding the waste gate shut on my junkyard turbo. I wanted to know if anyone had any tips. My plan is to scrub the hell out of it, bake it in my toaster oven, then weld it with my mig. I am looking for advice when welding cast iron.

HOW DO I WELD CAST IRON????

considering its a "junkyard turbo" its going to be internally gated. The only external wastegated turbos I've seen on OEM cars are Porsches and no one is going to bother using a KKK turbo on a Honda

weld the actuator arm to the turbine housing in the closed position. That way, if you ever have to use the gate again, a grinder is all you need and you wont have to remove the turbo or exhaust to do it.

+1 always good to have a '' other option'' if anything goes wrong with your other westgate...

The internal waste gate is broken. The flapper was not aligned when I pulled it from the junkyard. I really don't care about the internal waste gate.

remove the flapper and arm. Buy or make a flange that blanks off the WG hole but still allows the DP to function correctly. Bolt it together and be done with it. If this is too difficult, just source another turbo and weld the arm shut as I said before.

Its a 3 bolt outlet turbo. I don't have any option for a block off plate. I just need tips on welding a cast iron turbo housing.
