WTF is up with my Turbo?
Okay, I purchased a turbo a while ago, and I was getting ready to polish it today, and I noticed that there's a hole inside of the exhaust portion of the turbo where it bolts to the manifold; WTF? I've never seen this in a turbo and was wondering if it is a defective turbo. If so, I'd also like to know if welding it shut would be the route I should go. I know the turbo is a remanufactured turbo, so I'm assuming it's a defect and I didn't want to start welding something shut and find out it's engineered to help the spooling process. Anyways, thanks for your help!

just use a 5 bolt fange and dont drill the hole, i dont know if they sell them with the hole anyways. it will block it off and then it wont matter anymore and use an external wastegate.
