94 honda civic, electrical problems please help HT!
Alright so I just got my z6 from the machine shop, im rebuilding it to drop in my civic. so I put in the 2 pins with wires atatched into the wire harness that plugs into the ecu (got pins from the junk yard) that way id be ready to just wire up vtec and go. so then i go to start the car (same motor and everything vtec wires were just open to be ready for the swap) and then:
I let the fuel pump prime
Went to crank it over to start the car
Then a click and it sounded like a fuse just blew
Then nothing worked.
At first in the accesory 1 position the radio would be on but now there is nothing at all in accesory 1 position and in accesory2. The battery is still charged, checked all the fuses, tested main relay(not sure if i did it right any links would be great) and it tested bad.
so far:
No gauge lights, no low beams, no hazards, the car does not do anything when i try to turn it on.
Please help, i doubt the main relay would take all the power out of the car and im starting my job on the 29th so I need to get my baby goin again.
Thank you, ill be checking on this post very often.
Edit: When i tested the underdash fuse box all the fuses were good, but the voltage was reading .43 ish volt all around.

Check your main grounds, batt. cable clamp and post, batt. to chassis and chassis to engine, do not just eyeball them, undo them/clean them/reconnect them.
If it is a fuse it will be a main fuse in the engine bay fuse box. 94

Alright i will work on checking the grounds, let me copy and paste from another forum updates, THANK YOU for trying to help me, im in the car right now testing everything to the best of my ability. Can a ground blow like a fuse? because everything was good, added the two pins for vtec, turn on key, then go to crank and nothing. here are the updates:
Alright put in a new main relay and nothing. the dash is now out of the car with the cluster still in it, does any of that have to be plugged in to get the car to do anything?
However (before the new main relay) when i try to go and crank the car over there is a buzzing from this little black box, ill try to get the part # off it and see what it is.
The main relay harness is still only getting power to 1 wire the rest are dead and there should be 3 total "hot" wires, i dont know whatfeeds into the main relay though.
Edit: it is the starter relay that is making the buzzing when i go to crank it over.
Edit again, The ignition switch should be good, i tested some conectors and with the key on they all read there 12.5 volts, also I got some more fuses in the under dash fuse panel to read 12 volts, there is still alot of dead ones so ill be trouble shooting that.
Btw ill be adding edits to this instead of constantly bumping it so please check back for updates.
Another Edit: Just plugged in the ecu and now all the fuses that were reading a healthy 12 volts are now down to only around 1 volt, also with the ecu plugged in every now and then when i move the key just right a random buzzing comes from the fuse box, ill try and figure that out now.
Another Edit. There is a relay on the fuse box (rc-2201) Thats were the buzzing is coming from, with key off 3 wires tested 12 volts, but with the key on they all only tested around 1 volt? anyone have a clue?
Edit: FR-3309 is the flasher relay, Im trying to figure how to test it but does anybody think this will make a difference?
New find: when i plugged the ecu back into the harness, all of the fuses that i got to read around 12 volts are now reading around 1 volt. it seems as if having the ecu unplugged is helping get voltage around the fuse box.
