what engine swap is the best for the money on a 88 crx?
B16a w/ i/e, a guy I know used to pull 14.0 and 14.1 with just i/e on his b16, till he went turbo, you could alway's go with the squeeze if you're that worried about 13's. It's all a matter of how you drive.
I run 13's w/ a B16a all day long , thats the best motor for the money fora crx. thats just me though
If your crx is an si model, you can rebuild your d16a6 to run 13's no problem.
go to https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=298354 and look at exospeedAMcrx's last post.
even if your crx is not an si, you can get an si engine and tranny and pull it off for not much more than $2000

Maybe a ZC or a Z6 with a junkyard turbo kit?
or he can steal a H22 off a shop and have it swaped for 2000.... that will make him run 13's
13's all day? when you find that motor, let me know.
I'd say get a ZC...........$550.00..
Get some ZEX..............$450.00..
Do head work..............$800.00..
plugs/cap/rotor etc.......$100.00...
Grand total = $2000.00
That should do it but I wouldn't run that all day, you need to sleep don't you?
Edit: Start off with a SI NOT a HF. If you do that you won't have to spend $$$$ on a SI trany! The HF one will slow you down! I know the SI has more lbs....so do some gutting!
