OEM Rallycross Spring Suggestions Please
I'm running a 90 Civic in SCCA rallycross, was on my bump stops all weekend. I need suggestions for an OEM spring that's stiffer than my current set up. I've already replaced the shocks with GR2s, can't use aftermarket springs if I want to stay in stock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What do y'all think about running EG/DA shock/spring/fork for the EF? Should give me more travel and possibly stiffer springs? Do the front only or front and rear?
didn't read my comment in the crx/ef thread did you?
if you run a DC shock, spring, and fork combo, you're going to have to get the knuckle too. the fronts are way too long for the ef knuckle.
i've tried it, and it doesn't work. please note, this will make your car look like a truck.

Yes I read your suggestion and researched it and found some EF Hybrid suspension pages/threads. The general consensus was you could run a EG/DA strut and spring by swapping out the forks. Looking like a truck would be bad
I'm going to order some Ground Control bumpstops and try the progressives first.

yea, like a truck. i tried it out cause i swapped out my koni's from my 4door ex to my 4door gsr. the fronts, no way on making that work. the fork was sitting on the lower control arm, and there was no length/room to be able to bolt the fork to the lca.
the rear bolted up, but man, you could about fit two fist in the gap.
please note the 4door ex was not moving and the shock/springs were there to hold the car up.

if you can find them, you should be able to just use type r springs. they are a tad shorter then rs/gs/gsr springs with a higher spring rate, and pretty sure it'll fit on your gr2's.
this is all theory, cause while having the stock for stock ex next to the gsr, the springs looked to be about the same length. the gsr's might have been a tad longer, but for sure the shock body's where longer.
Hope you're not planning on running anything above regional events, if so you'll likely get protested if not what's it matter going up to PF? Rallycross is 99% driver compared to the 90% driver in autocross. I ran 3rd fastest overal at an event in my stock CRX that was in PF because of an air intake. Just go fast, and don't worry about class unless you're looking for a national title
Shinny, we're pretty laid back down here but I get your point. I've got to do something about the shocks slamming up in there like they are. I guess I can just go to OEM bump stops, the ones I'm running now are pretty bad.
You could probably just run a more aggressive damping to help out. Try running a Bilstein HD shock with stock springs and see how it is. Running a shock replacement is still legal for stock classes.

Since the OP isn't concerned about cheating, might as well cheat in a way that will leave the height alone and just increase the spring rate.
The director of ALSCCA RX told me to find springs that would help my car, if I was going to the Regionals or Nationals I'd be concerned about the letter of the law.
Coil helpers or spring rubbers? Check out circle track suppliers, pretty sure when you hear the NASCAR guys talking about adding or removing a "rubbers" that's what they're talking about.
Edited to add: I'm a dummy, the picture has a "Circle Track" watermark!

And they are commonly used in circle track racing, but there's no reason they couldn't be used to fine tine spring rates for other forms of racing.
