Default Skunk2 shifter

I have a 99 ek and i read that all short throws are interchangeable between civics 88-00. Well I had one form my old sol laying around and went to change it today and the width of the stock shifter is alot wider at the base than the aftermarket. Any input on why that is?

Just because you don't like the answer, doesn't make it wrong, or "wack". You can't put 94 Civic headlight housings on a 94 Sol, either. There are some parts that are interchangeable, but the Del Sol generally doesn't fit in the 88-00 category.

Im aware that there are parts that work and don't work form model down to year. But when someone has a smart *** input to a question i could really use a second opinion on it generally irritates me. Skunk 2 themselves have the same corresponding part number for all civic from ef to ek, including all years of the del sol. But thanks for the help

if you have a B swap and are using a single bend shifter for a d the end of the shifter will be narrower than the shift linkage, just use washer to pack it out to fit

No its not that it doesn't fit. I found out that the previous owner had put a teg shifter stabilizer bar on my ek which is why the shifter i am trying to install is much smaller on the part that bolts to the stabilizer than the skunk 2.

The Del Sol came with a d series motor, where some civics like the SI have a B series motor. The B series motor has a different linkage so it will not work unless you rig it a bit. The d series ones should fit without an issue. I know someone who was able to use one off an F series from his accord although I am not sure how well it worked, he just needed to get his car from the garage to a pull barn.

For the most part d series motor parts are interchangeable.
