NEW Ramhorn Manifold! Should i Buy?? new style
I'm curently trying to get a legit turbo manifold for my daily driver without spending wayyy too much money but at the same time i know if i want a legit manifold, it isnt going to be cheap. i came across this one which is new and is claimed to be made of thicker gauge stainless steel and better welds yadayada yada. the company is local so i decided to pay them a visit to check out the manifold personally and unlike the other ebay manifolds i have seen the ports were polished correctly, everything looked even and the wastegete flange looked clean and trully was exatly 38mm.
so what do turbo guys think? i talked with the owner and he gave me a really good out the door price.

what was the price? i wouldnt pay more then 300 for that, cxracing isnt really named brand. more of a ebay name brand. but if you get a deal fukk it, try it out.. have you check the sponsors on here for manifolds?
yea a littlee over 300 with gaskets and bolts and i have seen a bunch of ebay manifolds and all sucked compared to this one. the ports on the manifold were legit, but the only thing is that i dont kno if i can trust the welds. im aware their a better ebay brand but maybe this batch of manifolds are better.
any welders or machinists out there looking at this. what about it do you not like other than the brand not having any history. what kind of steel does it appear to be?

for all you guys who started with cheaper parts and then upgraded, how much horsepower difference did u gain on the dyno? i just tryn to spend the money where it counts the most, and so far the only "ebay" item i have is the cast log that has never gone wrong on me for past 3 years
Its usually the welds that crack.
Im using cast after 5 different "custom" manifolds cracked.. and they werent ebay brands either.
Check out the SPA Cast topmount.

And I've got clocking langes for the spa manifold. Run this in my car with ac and ps putting down some good power enough to run with a ZX10 up to about 140? That cx racing one is crap. Honestly it's not going to be about hp gains from a cheap manifold to a good manifold it's going to be about the manifold lasting without cracking plain and simple. Plenty of used good quality manifolds for sale all the time and plenty of good quality manifold companies selling new. Save up and buy a quality piece or don't even both going turbo. Buying cheaper parts to begin with and upgrading as they fail will just cost out a lot more money in the long run and yes they will all fail
^^^^ This guy is building my manifold, he also tuned my car and fixed a ton of **** another shop did poorly (won't say any names but we can all figure it out.)
I had a "Godspeed" ram horn style manifold, same damn thing as the CX Racing manifolds. I had probably 2000 miles on it and it started cracking around the WG flange on the collector, welded it like 7 times and finally it blew the gate right off at bandimere during a race. Would strongly recommend staying away from any Ebay or otherwise cheap companies. I mean, come on, less than 500$ for a manifold, I knew what i was getting. The welds are crap, the material is cheap chinese steel and its thin as ****. Don't waste your money like I did and just get it done. ****, have Nayr_One do it.

I wouldn't cheap out on the manifold. You don't even have to go name brand like full race. just find a company on this site that builds quality manifolds. and do you some research on the company...
I have been using a trackforged ramhorn manifold. So far it has been solid.
He even made a closed dump for me

It is double the price but still a great price for a great manifold.
I went through a bunch of ss autocrap stuff but this looks better then that so who knows. Try it out if your brave but remember you will have to redo all the plumbing if it breaks and you have to go to a different manifold.

im running a Blueridge Motorsports Ram Horn and Ive never heard any problems nor have i experienced any problems with it. I got mine for $500 shipped but it was when they had a sale on theyr merchandise
im aware cx racing is a cheap chinese brand but the new manifolds are unlike the other ebay manifolds we always see. the welds are supposedly jetblasted or jet beaded or something like that at the welds, they are alot thicker, seemed to be made out of different steel, heavier, and the inside is actually port and polished by hand and i couldnt find any errors in the collector or wastegate. if anyone here has tried their new manifolds let me kno, but so far looks like im leaning towards blueridge but only if they had specials again.
From what I heard, all ram manifolds will eventually crack. It's the warranty that I think matters. I also notice that some companys are not offering life time warranty anymore. Just a few years, 5 at max. I personally run a peakboost ram for 2 years and haven't had any problems. Unfornately peakboost is down the drain now so if mines crack I may have to search for someone else. Full-race maybe this around.
My manifold was purchased in January, and lasted 2000 miles with an upgraded support for the gate. Now look, having one made. I spent 300 on that one. Now I got a deal on this new set up but Nayr is the **** and is hooking it up, dudes got all my money for stuff I can't do myself. Total investment now is 1400 into a manifold and downtime, car dolly rental, fuel, re tune..., do it once man get a good one. There is a peak boost mini ram on cl dude well take 400 with gate if you want cheap go used at minimum fine go Chinese!
(no offense to the Chinese, but stick to making spatula's and salt shakers)

this just in. today i will finally be recieving my new ram horn. i decided to go with a brand name one and not with the cxracing. i checked out their manifolds and their latest batch of manifolds werent as impressive and definitly werent ported the way they should. updates will be posted
sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm using cx racing cast manifold and it has over 40,000 miles no cracks
all SS manifolds will crack, guaranteed. As a daily driver you don't want the hassle of downing your car to return the manifold every time it cracks, regardless of warranty.

Not all tubular manifolds crack, not if properly fitted and welded
Case in point, I have the manifold off the legendary DSG 240RS Maxi, purpose built circuit and hill climb car, its made out of 16g 304ss tube and was properly back purged and welded, its a divided manifold, wideband bungs in each port, etc. I got it for a steal (buddy hook up) and it shows no signs of cracking or fatigue. Of course you really have to properly brace a turbo with any tubular manifold, regardless of material thickness or eventually everything will crack. Try holding 20lbs at arms length, tell me how long you last, now you know what a turbo manifold goes through

The manifold, I can't even tell you the abuse this this saw with a 3076 hung from it (braced of course) between anti lag, tuning, time attack events and hill climbs the manifold might as well be new
Its all in the quality of materials, how they fit together and that proper steps ere taken to clean, prep, and weld the manifold, honestly a lot of manifolds from not companies are not back purged which means you don't have complete penetration. Or they used sub standard materials/alloys for the application.
