Good evening guys, I have an issue with my daughters 99 accord. The security system is acting up and intermittently will not start. The green" key" security blinks 5 times then goes out. That never happened before. First what is the normal action for the green key security light. Second what do the 5 blinks represent? Is it a code?

Wanted to say I have started with the purghase of a newly coded key. That started the car for a few times but the GREEN KEY light still flashed five times then went out. What is the meaning of the five flashes

How bout buying your daughter a new car?
You could easily drive her old one.

 

mine comes on for a brief period when starting and then flashes about 5 times when turning off. this is normal. if its flashing 5 times when starting it almost sounds like a loose ignition switch and the car thinks your turning it off.
