Default driver window issue

I have a 98 civic four-door and the driverside power window has always rolled up a little slow but I never had any problems other than that.
Recently it has been struggling to roll up and and sometimes gets stuck. I'd roll it back down a bit then back up and continue that until it went all the way back up.
Today I heard a nasty scrapping sound like the glass or arm holding it was rubbing against metal or something.
Now I know this is a common problem but I don't know why. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for what I should look for when I pull the door apart?

its a messed up regulator, just get a new one.... there cheap. Happens on pretty much every civic 96-00.
