Default is it the regulator? 98 civ window jerks when 4 inches from being all the way up

have a 98 civic ex coupe (not sure if that is relevant) and the driver power window was off track and all messed up. so, this morning i took the door panal off and unscrewed the 10 mill bolt behind the speaker to put it back on track....all fine and dandy. when i was rolling the window up it got about 4 inches from being all the way up and it stopped and started clicking LOUD. not even sure if the word "click" would be correct. it jerks the window. almost as if a gear of somesort was slipping. idk. it's so bazaar. i unplugged the windows power and pulled the sucker (window lol) all the way up with my hands. do you think it's the window regulator? not sure if it would be the motor since the window goes up and down (for the most part) relatively well.

also, the power lock on the passenger side doesn't lock and unlock and stiff to move manually. any suggestions?

Thanks so much for y'alls help.

It's generally a bad regulator. The cause is usually a bad scissor joint.

Lock- try lubricating the latch.

Okay, I had kinda assumed so, but was still trying to stay optimistic and was hoping for a "quick fix" answer lol.

for the lock, should i use a silicone based lube like recommended for the window seals? or will wd-40 do the trick?

I'd use grease.
