Im gonna try to explain this the best that i can and in as much detail as i can. The other day I was driving my car and it just cut off out of no where.. It did not sputter or nothing just rpm's dropped and it shut off. I later on got the car towed to my house and began looking into what the problem could be. The car starts with no problem but it shuts off, even if you give it gas it just shuts right off. I changed my computer and main relay. I also checked all of my fuses (ecu fuse and ignition fuse) and they are all good. When i turn the car to accel (1 click before starting) the fuel pump does not come on and non of the dash lights not even the cel. But the car starts n cuts right off.. If anyone has any input as to what this could be please let me know.. My car has a new dizzy (5 months old) plugs and wires are good, battery is new (3 months old).. Please if you have any input let me know.. some things that are done to my car:

its a 1995 ex
d16y8 long block
stock trans
255 fuel pump
stock p28 comp

swaps been in the car for almost 2 years and have had no problems what so ever with this car till now

all my grounds are good i checked those n they are all making more than perfect contact lol

with that said, if you truly replaced all of the above items with known good working parts then the only thing left is something very commonm amongst your vehicle.

Yea take off the 2 screws to the ignition switch and use a screwdriver to start the car. If it dies whenever you stop holding it in the start position its the ignition switch. Easily found at junkyards.

 

its definitely the ignition. i had a similar problem, tho my ( at the time 93 sedan ) did not shut off. the intermittent wipers work while driving, unless i wiggled the key lol.

 

 

thank you everyone for your help n the info and input.. but it is the ignition switch as you all have said.. i took it apart and the inside is burnt.. i have ordered a new switch and i will be back on the road tomorrow.. thank youuu!

Phone honda with your vin ready and have them run a check on the recalls for your car, my ignition switch went on my 98 hatch and honda replaced it for free

 

Ill keep this in mind for the em1

 

shes all fixed.. put new ignition switch in and spliced the wires in for the alarm.. changed the ignition relay since it blew n she started right up
