Jun III safety
Ok before i get flamed for not searching i just finished about 1.5 hours of searching and i didnt really get a specific answer for my question. Now the question....
Right now i have an LS with I/H (2.5" collector)/ E (2.5")/ high flow cat (2.5")
and i plan on swapping in a B18c and keeping the I/H/E/cat.
I want to get some cams after that and right now Jun IIIs are at the top of the list along with the Jun retainers and springs. Is there anything else i should do to make the cams more reliable, i want the car to last at least 2 more years before a re-build/trade in. I might do an intake manifold or other minor engine mods later on, but can i put these cams on with just the I/H/E and not have to worry about them breaking or other parts breaking??

Are you keeping the stock bottom end and compression ratio? Sounds like a swap, what type of car are you putting this in?
If you dont want to rebuild the bottom end, and want the car to last longer, I'd recommend just going with some OEM Honda cams or say, Jun II's/Toda A's. A noticeable difference can be made from those cams with minimal supporting mods, and still being able to run on stock valvetrain. Doing so with keep your engine in a better mechanical shape IMO. (VS the high profiles of say Toda B's / Jun III's - which CAN run on a stock valvetrain and HAVE lasted a while, but typically is recommended to upgrade and maintain often.) To me it just sounds like you would rather have a more reliable car that you don't have to maintain as often/much.

the B18c would be completely stock except for the I/H/E from my current engine, B18b. Hmm, those are good tips though, thanks. I'm gonna do some research on Jun II's, see if they'll give me the gains i'm looking for.
No problem. Here is a thread that may be of interest to you. Compares some Jun II's vs Toda A's, etc.

i'm just looking to improve the quickness of my car, the main reason i'm swapping in a B18c. I'm not really trying to break any speed records, that will come once i graduate college in another year and a half
but for now i'm looking to run maybe low 14s or high 13s and have my car last for at least 2 more years.

If you tune a B18C5 correctly you will be able to get a low low 14.
What I mean is I have seen some people tune a basically stock motor with bolt on and acheive very low 14 even a high 13 sec pass Now with the B18B you might have to add a few more things, but tunning is going to be your friend if you want to keep the car alive for atleast two more years.
See if you could get your hands on a legit C5 and drop that in with the LSD tranny to get the power to the ground and you should be able to get a quick car that will last a while. That is if you did not spend the money on a motor already.
I'm sure you knew this but just had to type something
