Default 99 acura cl overdrive

My son recently bought a 99 acura cl. It seems like the rpm's are high for being in overdrive. In D4 it shifts 4 times, the D4 light is on steady. The fourth shift goes from 3500 rpm down to about 2700 at 55 mph. Is this normal rpm's for this speed? Is this OD or should there be another shift?

4th gear is the overdrive. sounds a lil high for the 3.0 litre.

does it have the 2.2 or 3.0 litre engine?

So from what I could understand, it has four gears, and an overdrive fifth gear? It sounds about right right to me

It's the 3.0 V6. I guess it is doing what it is supposed to. It just seems like a high RPM for OD in 4th gear at 55 mph. Of course,a mechanic said if it is a torque converter lock up,it is not a true overdrive.
Thanks for your help!
