Today i changed the Speedo Cable on my 89 SI after driving 15min check engine went on. when i turn off the car it resets the check engine light.But after i start the car and start driving a few min. it goes back on. what steps should i take to get this resolve?

 

Clear cel

Pull negative cable off battery

Let it stand for a few mins

Put back on

Then report back

 

Make sure the speedo cable is locked in @ the trans and the cluster.

 

Ok disconnected both (+) and ( - ) for a few min also doubled checked the speedo cable and car starts fine and not even 10 min driving check engine light goes on. I pull over turn car off lights goes away. What should I do next?
