Default Strange problem with Turbo GSR

Compression numbers:
#1:235
#2:230
#3:190; 225 with half a cap full of oil
#4:230

Leak Down:
#1:0%
#2:3%
#3:40% Air coming from number 2 cylinder while performing
#4:9%

Smoke blowing from exhaust, white with blueish tint when accelerating and grayish when letting off. With the comp numbers going up with oil in cylinder, suggests rings right? I have oil in my radiator, suggests headgasket right? Could a blown headgasket be the cause of the low comp in #3 and reason why air is passing through #2?

So headgasket is the culprit. Better than rings i guess. But we will see.

The HG for sure.......what are you going to use for replacement HG and Bolts?

To avoid this problem again, use either oem or fel-pro HG, with a light coat of copper spray, and ARP head studs Torqued properly.....

BTW: A fel-pro MLS is as good as oem honda, oem=$80.....fel-pro from most places=$70

fel-pro from www.rockauto.com = $30 And yes it is the exact same MLS one that others sell for $70, but other places are marking it up because they know of it's use as a true oem replacement for performance builds, rock auto just simply sells them as a replacement part thus not bending you over and charging $70 for a $30 part...

Didn't know that. Going to check it out today. I was going to go with cometic and arp studs. I know cometics are good, but am i just paying for the name because i usually use oem gaskets.

Pretty sure FelPro makes the Honda OEM head gasket. I have pushed FelPro head gaskets pretty hard and never had an issue with one.

I'll agree Felpro is probably close to as good. Felpro stuff has always been good for me

Bump. The head and valvetrain is good. With the piston being egged like that and the walls aren't scored bad, except for the very top of wall has like rough carbon build up, would just a hone be ok since going back to n/a for now?

Should be fine even for boost as long as the PTW clearance stays withing reason....let your machinist figure that out, but if the PTW is going to go above like .065 you will have slap, so better off to bore and run bigger pistons.

if its just going back to n/a and dd i would just ball hone and change the rings while youre there. maybe stick some plastigauge in the rod bearidngs to confirm everythings in spec, plus u will have the chance to clean the coolant out of them which destroys them.
